We are so honored to have Lucy of Craftberry Bush, the winner of the Fall Link Party, here with us today!

Lucy is not only a blogger, but talented artist as well! Lucy uses her blogging platform as “an outlet for her to share her passion for art and more.”   Today Lucy is sharing her gorgeous Fall Mantel that reflects her artistic flair and unique design style.  Welcome Lucy!

Hello everyone and welcome to Craftberry Bush!  I am honored the kind people at FOLK asked that I contribute to their site and am humbled to share a little bit of my world with you.

My family is fortunate to live in a part of the world that enjoys 4 distinct seasons, which I try to reflect in our ever changing mantel decorations.  I find the mantel is not only the focal point of our family room, but it also sets the tone for the balance of the decor.

I often use items found around the house in combination with inexpensive treasures discovered at thrift stores or flea markets.  For my fall mantel, I purchased several wicker baskets ranging from $0.99 to $3.00.  I find placing distinct yet cohesive items together brings fluidity to your decor, allowing you to transform an otherwise ordinary mantel into something unique.

Vintage jars and old cider glass jugs add an unexpected sparkle to an otherwise very monochromatic palette.  The use of books and book pages not only injects a pique of interest, but it’s an easy way to fill in gaps and incorporate height diversity into your display.

I love items which have meaning or are homemade, such as these faux antlers (you can see a full tutorial of how I made them here).

I believe it’s those small personal touches which make a house a home. Thank you for allowing me to share a tiny bit of our home with you.

much love,

Lucy

Thank you Lucy, for guest posting for us today and sharing your gorgeous mantel! We invite you to visit Lucy over at Craftberry Bush for even more inspiration!
