Hand-made gift ideas and a GIVEAWAY

This is the best time of the year. Time to spend with family, share stories, enjoy comforting meals. This isn’t the time of year to stress over what to buy for your friends and family. Make a vow to hand-make  all of your gifts and show your friends and family that you care by creating something  just for them.

Just because you make something doesn’t mean you have to spend hours on creating it. Trust me, I’m a mom of 3 and have very little time on my hands. I think it’s possible to form everyday objects into something impact full  that your friends and family will love.

#1 Homemade granola

#2 homemade peanut butter

#3 An almost no-sew pillow

#4 An up-cycled personalized candle holder

#5 A dog food bowl stand created from a step stool

#6 framed chalkboard

And #7 is my favorite. An unexpected sign for the laundry room.

After purchasing this antique ironing board, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. Of course, it ended up just filling an empty corner and serving very little purpose.

So, I decided to turn it into art.

By using a yard stick I created letters to spell out a simple word, ‘LAUNDRY.’

Black paint carefully filled in the lines.

Just like that I have a custom piece of artwork to hang in the laundry room. One of a kind, only moments to create, and can be given as a gift to a homeowner that would be proud to hang on their wall.

If you still aren’t inspired to create your own gifts this year I have found some extremely generous small-business owners that donated some of their hand-made products to give to YOU.

Before running to your local “big-box store” this year to buy gifts I would like to introduce you to some small business owners. These are people who create their products, put love and care into each item that they personally make for you.  Purchasing from a small business is a personal experience. If you have a question or a special request they are there to help you and truly believe in ‘the customer is always right.’  Please stop by and visit these lovely gals and see if there is something for you!
