FOLKstyle: Fall

on October 1 | in Uncategorized | by | with 2 Comments

It’s October first…
Time to break out the pumpkins, corn stalks, dried hydrangeas and leaves,
and get our FALL on!
For a softer look at country-style décor for autumn,
try Sweet Sweater Pumpkins,
an original design by Deb Kennedy,
featured in our current issue…
Add natural elements to displays of pumpkins
heaped abundantly on silver platters and in baskets,
perched on urns and flowerpots, and nestled under glass cloches.
From your front door to your dining table,
welcome autumn’s chill with new uses for sweaters!
Deb’s tutorial for making your own pumpkins from recycled sweaters
is on pages 44-46 in the FOLK Fall issue.
If you’ve followed the tutorial and made some for yourself, share with us!

  1. DEB! I just love these pumpkins!!
I actually have some old plaid shirts that i love but can't wear anymore. I'm thinking about trying your technique with them!

    Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Absolutely gorgeous! You certainly have me looking at sweaters in a whole new way… I want some! :)
